3M™ 9579 is a 9.0 mil double sided film tape built on a hand-tearable polyethylene carrier with high-tack repositionable adhesive on both sides. The repositionable system allows one-piece removal from most surfaces without leaving excessive residue, distinguishing it from permanent double sided tapes used in similar bonding applications.
Its substrate compatibility spans metals, plastics, glass, coated materials, and rough surfaces, making it well suited for temporary mounting, assembly alignment, and surface-to-surface bonding in manufacturing, fabrication, signage, and light industrial environments. The hand-tearable carrier eliminates the need for a dispenser in most field or bench-top applications.
Each roll is wound on a 3-inch core with an optimal application temperature range of 70°F to 100°F. The tape delivers very good shear holding power while still permitting clean repositioning when needed. Sold as a 2-pack; ships via parcel carrier.
